For drivers
You're driving anyway.
Take someone with you.
UpRide is not a job and you are not a taxi. Publish the journey you already make, and people going the same way ask to come along. You decide who, and you decide when.
01 — Your corridor
Your commute, written down once.
Times, days, seats — it repeats with your week.
Where you start, where you finish, what time you leave, which days you drive, how many seats you can spare. Passengers only see you if their journey fits inside yours — and you see the detour each one costs you before you answer.
Your endpoints stay approximate. No passenger ever sees your address, and no map on this site or in the app puts a pin on your house.

02 — Asked, not dispatched
A no costs you nothing.
Decline a bad detour, a wrong morning, a full week.
You are not a supplier being sent jobs. Each passenger is a request you can accept or decline, and nothing happens when you decline — no penalty, no score, no queue position.
Boarding is confirmed with a code, messages stay in the app, and you rate passengers the same way they rate you.

What you receive
Your commute costs less.
It never becomes income.
A share of what the journey costs to run — fuel and wear — is split between everybody in the car. You always carry your own share.
01
The cap is the point
What you receive is capped below what the journey costs you. That is what keeps you inside ordinary private motor insurance rather than needing commercial cover.
02
More seats, more covered
Carry one passenger and part of the journey pays for itself. Carry three and most of it does. It never tips into profit — by design.
03
Not switched on yet
Cost-share payouts are built but currently off. During the pilot nothing is paid out on this model — we'd rather tell you here than have you find out later.
Before you carry anyone
You get approved first.
Identity documents, a photo of you, a photo of the car — checked before you appear in anyone's search results.
Identity and vehicle
Checked once, before you can carry anyone. Nobody appears in a search result unapproved.
Your own rating
Passengers rate you and you rate them, after every trip, both directions.
No phone numbers change hands
Pickups get arranged in the app. You are not giving your number to strangers.
A code at the door
The passenger shows a digital pass, so the person getting in is the person who booked.
